Join us in Rotterdam-Zuid on the final day of Rotterdam Art Week for an Art Index Rotterdam Tour, guided by insiders Erika, founder of Art Index Rotterdam (2017), and her tour partner Anne-Marie Ros (since 2018).

Our focus this year is on Zuid, where C3 has emerged as a lively cultural hub. In this former school building, we visit exhibitions about A Woman, Jumpstart Space, and Niet vergeten. Nearby, we also stop at Foundation B.A.D., the long-running artist-run space hosting ENERGY II, and — if time allows — step into a studio to see where the magic happens.

From there, we continue to Art Rotterdam at Ahoy, the beating heart of Rotterdam Art Week. Expanded this year with Unseen, the fair brings together galleries, artists and initiatives from across the world and the city. Moving through several of the fair’s sections — from Main and New Art to Solo/Duo and Prospects — we explore the Rotterdam layer, recognising galleries, artists and projects connected to the city along the way.

With Erika mapping the scene through Art Index Rotterdam and Anne-Marie bringing it to life through the city, the tour unfolds as a lively back-and-forth between the two. The tour opens the door to Rotterdam’s contemporary art scene — and makes it easy to continue following it throughout the year via Art Index Rotterdam.

After the tour, you can continue exploring Art Rotterdam or head to Katendrecht, another cultural hotspot on Zuid. During Rotterdam Art Week, the area hosts several events, including Rotterdam Photo at Deliplein, exhibitions connected to Fenix – the Migration Museum, and Expo Codrico in the monumental former grain silo, where Anne-Marie joins the exhibition as one of the participating artists.

Tip: From Katendrecht, you can take the watertaxi across the Maas to Piekstraat, another Rotterdam Art Week location featuring The New Current and Murals Inc.
