'Same Same, But Different' - the choice of Philip Akkerman. The Hague artist Philip Akkerman is known for his self-portraits. Over the past forty years, he has painted nearly five thousand of them. Several artists at Herenplaats, like Akkerman, also have a particular fondness for a specific subject. (Self) portraits, boats, guns, but also graphic forms are themes that are worked on. The subject matter is often the same, yet each work looks different. Same Same, But Different.

Transfer Resort: CLOTHING AS CORRESPONDENCE Informal care for Mothership Earth LENN COX & WIEDJAI DIHAL. During this workshop we will work with the concepts that align with the research of Lenn Cox, local resident Wiedjai Dihal, the neighborhood and the current exhibition Where shall we plant the placenta?, which compares motherhood with ecology and connects them from mutual notions of care and concern. Together we share, through transfer printing of images and text and the processing of textiles, what care and community mean to each of us and we look for where these meanings can come together.
